News reporters jump from the large hill

This year's highlight in ski jumping in the valley under Ponce is drawing near and it could bring a new record according to experts, with jumps as long as 254 metres anticipated on the renovated hill. News reporters tested their physical condition and hoped that they would be the ones to make the longest jump.

In Ljubljana, at the premises of the insurance company Zavarovalnica Triglav, media representatives competed and basked in all the shining glory of the large ski jumping hill in Planica as they experienced for the first time the thrill of how to fly like a bird, or rather - like an eagle. Emulating the experience of the Slovenian eagles they saw with their own eyes (and other senses), how the best of the best experience the atmosphere in the arena.

Without any special ski jumping skills they jumped with Oculus Rift - the first ski jumping simulation in virtual reality in Slovenia. Oculus Rift are virtual 3D glasses, which allow what is currently the most authentic experience that most closely resembles actual jumping on the large hill in Planica. "Competitors" reported having goose bumps during the descent on the take-off ramp, a feeling of free fall during the jump from the ramp of the table and excitement during the jump into the depths below, then landing, reception and slowing on the out-run.
