Did you compete in the virtual ski jumps on March 21 and 22 in Citypark in Ljubljana? Check if your jump is in gallery
The insurance company Zavarovalnica Triglav, a long-time partner of the Ski Association of Slovenia, enabled ski jumping fans to experience record jumps. It seems incredible, and the experience itself really is, since this is the first example of ski jumping simulation in virtual reality in Slovenia.
It is said that every Slovenian should climb Triglav once in a lifetime, visit the depths of the Postojna Cave and experience ski jumping in Planica, which is considered the cradle of ski jumping. With the help of Zavarovalnica Triglav, ski jumping fans were able to jump from the large hill; all they needed for a record jump was the head-mounted display Oculus Rift. These are technologically advanced glasses, which resemble ski goggles. The experience with virtual 3D glasses is currently by far the best approximation to jumping at the legendary venue in Planica, where jumpers finish the competition season. On Thursday, March 19, this was a unique experience for media representatives in the official press centre in Kranjska Gora, and one day later, athletes in the ski jumping village were able to compete on the virtual hill in Planica. On Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, a record in ski jumping was set by visitors in the Citypark shopping centre in Ljubljana.
The developers wanted to maximise the experience of the ski jumper and thus set the experience in the valley under Ponce. According to the Slovenian eagles, the decelopers succeeded in their goal. The experience was tested by Slovenian jumpers, world champions - Peter Prevc, Jurij Tepeš and Franci Petek, who are excited about the jumps. More information is available on the official Facebook page of Zavarovalnica Triglav and on the webpage www.planica.tv.
On March 19 and 20, Zavarovalnica Triglav will enable ski jumping fans to experience record jumps.
On Thursday March 19, this unique experience will be available to media representatives in the official press centre in Kranjska Gora, and on March 20, competitors in the ski jumping village will be able to try out the virtual jumping hill. It seems incredible, and the experience itself really is, since this is the first example of virtual reality ski jumping simulation in Slovenia. All you need for a record jump is the head-mounted display Oculus Rift - technologically advanced glasses, which resemble ski goggles. The experience with virtual 3D glasses is currently by far the best approximation to actual jumping at the legendary venue in Planica, where jumpers complete the final round of the competition season.
On March 13, Zavarovalnica Triglav will enable a unique ski jumping experience with Oculus Rift – the technologically advanced head-mounted display designed to provide the experience of virtual reality.
You will be able to try out first virtual jumps on Friday March 13 at 9:30, at the premises of Zavarovalnica Triglav, Verovškova ulica 60b, Ljubljana, the Galerija Hall.
